and Rand National Transport present Case Study

Prodata Solutions was recently invited to present a case
study at the "e-logistics for manufacturing" workshop, sponsored by the Department of Trade and Economic
Development. We chose to present a study on the rapid
return on investment and benefits Rand National
Transport had received since implementing viper:online
late last year.
We offer the following feedback on the
workshop:
The workshop was well attended with representation from Manufacturing, Automotive, Mining, Wine and Insurance industries. Delegates welcomed a presentation by Professor Klaus Moeller, a logistics specialist, currently visiting from Germany who presented a topic on "e-business @ e-logistics"
Professor Moeller gave details of how the internet is allowing businesses to improve processes and transform the order to delivery process using e-business solutions. He defined e-logistics as an e-enabling strategy which is used to align and integrate business processes. Giving examples of how technology is supporting collaboration inside the enterprise and between supply chain partners.
Prodata Solutions presented a case study with Rand National Transport showing how collaborative technology has reduced costs for Rand and their customers.
Shaun Coniglio, Regional Manager, Vic & SA of Rand National Transport gave examples of how viper:online has enabled them reduce write-offs by over $250,000. Shaun also explained how viper:online has helped Rand remodel their document management procedures from one requiring 5 full time documentation clerks reduced to only needing one person. Documents are now available online within 36 hours of delivery as opposed to a typical 14 day cycle previously. Shaun pointed out savings to manufacturers could be as much as 10 times greater due to the cost of products shipped as compared with their freight value.
Shaun gave further examples of how viper:online increased efficiency before and after delivery of service, sighting a list of benefits for their customers. In summarising, our case study went on to congratulate Rand for not only improving customer service and reducing their costs, but also for using viper:online to assist them win new business.
